About us

Intercord Records is Universal Music Central Europe’s international dance-pop label. Its musical focus is on electronic music, particularly dance, house and tech house. The label works with both local and international artists and follows new developments within these genres.
The team supports its artists with releases, distribution and marketing. For each artist and song, Intercord develops tailored marketing and communication activities to reach the right audience and attract new fans. It works with internal teams and external partners across the music and media industries.

Intercord also includes the sublabels Zeitgeist Records and Future Trance.

Zeitgeist focuses on discovering and supporting artists for the German-speaking market. Its releases range from crossover tracks with schlager, party and trance influences to hardstyle and techno. Artists include Cascada, Harris & Ford, Luca-Dante Spadafora, LIZOT and HBz.

Future Trance focuses on fast, energetic trance and house music. Artists include Pegassi, L.zwo and Serafina.

What is Intercord Records?

Intercord Records is a dance and electronic music label based in Berlin. It is part of Universal Music and was previously called Virgin Records Germany. The name changed to Intercord Records in October 2025.

What kind of music does the label release?

Intercord releases mainly international and national dance-pop and electronic music, including house, tech house and dance. It is always at the forefront of EDM music. However, we believe that music has fluid transitions between genres and therefore also features talented artists from other genres within its ranks.

Which artists release music through Intercord?

Artists include established artists like Felix Jaehn, Topic, MEDUZA, James Hype, HUGEL or FAST BOY and newcomers like Bbyclose, Yearboox or Tomas Grey.

Is Intercord exclusively a dance music label?

No. Intercord operates internationally and does not set boundaries between genres. Artists such as Nico Santos, Ellice and Wavvyboi also represent genres closely connected to dance music. At Intercord, we believe that genres flow into one another and that music cannot be defined primarily by categories.

How are Intercord, Zeitgeist Records and Future Trance connected?

Zeitgeist Records and Future Trance are sublabels of Intercord. Zeitgeist focuses on the German-speaking market. Future Trance focuses on fast trance and house music.
